“I have sailed several times with Captain John and First Mate Dianna, and these have been some of the best experiences in my life. John’s expertise in sailing through all sorts of weather is both exciting to experience and is also very assuring. I have full trust in John and Dianna’s sailing skills. Together they provide a lovely time, both sailing and in hosting. They are very attentive to the needs and comfort of those sailing aboard the Windeavor. And the meals and snacks are delicious. The boat itself is well equipped and quite comfortable, both for moving about and sleeping. The deck has an optional enclosure that allows one to be on deck, even during cooler weather. Dining on the deck during sunset is amazing. I feel exhilarated just remembering my times on the Windeavor and with John and Dianna!I highly recommend taking a charter with John and Dianna aboardthe Windeavor!!”

Skipper John and first mate Dianna are hosts extraordinaire, attending to their guests at all times, highlighting safety, comfort, relaxation and tasty shared meals as they introduce you to the stunning beauty of the pristine waters, craggy lake caves and daily island hopping to hike the “Jewels of Lake Superior”. After a short motorized dingy ride from the sailboat to an island shore, nature surrounds you, hiking through forests, exploring lighthouses, and possibly ending the outing with a swim back to the boat.
This amazing boat offers beautiful accommodations, inside and out, and exterior protection from the elements. Meditation, reading or simply ‘gazing’ at the wonders of nature as you slice through the waters provides a unique and very special get-away. We highly recommend this adventure and look forward to returning to explore even more of the treasures of Lake Superior and it’s Islands with these creative, educational, watchful and delightful hosts!
